2024-10-21
October 21 (the third Monday of the month, dodging Canadian Thanksgiving) is the 125th meeting for Systems Thinking Ontario.
This special session will be co-integrated with RSD13, the Relating Systems Thinking and Design symposium's final day of online systemic design sessions. In addition to the ST-ON session dedicated to systems convening, held at our regular time, check out the full line-up of five one-hour sessions we’ve clustered around systems thinking and the ST-ON session. All tickets are pay-what-you-can (courtesy of hosts, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design and the Systemic Design Association), and you will find many colleagues and familiar names presenting.
Systems Thinking Ontario: A retrospective, introspective, and prospective discussion about systems convening
This session of Systems Thinking Ontario (ST-ON) is an opportunity to consider the story of ST-ON from the perspective of learnings on continuous systems convening. ST-ON organizers speak to the long history of the ST-ON monthly meetup, its format, unique features, and personal highlights and learnings. Long-time participants also share their reflections on the value that ST-ON has provided them.
The session format is a roundtable on new trajectories in response to two trends: (i) the insular approach to discussing systems thinking via “systems thinkers,” and (ii) the ease and reach of online meetups and the value of in-person discussions in shared contexts.
